A massive swathe of forest located to the East of [[Keirhall]] above the [[Barrier Mountains]]. It is split into a North and South by an ambitious logging road that leads from Keirhall to Waekefield. A large obsidian Mage Tower, a glass village, and abandoned logging expeditions are mostly all that is known within. Some say a "[[King Tree]]" is guarded by a forest spirit named [[Gor]] that can be used to travel to the [[Feywild]], but only those who are worthy will find it. ## [[The King Tree]] A tree unlike any in the forest stands at the center of a clearing. Light shimmers up from beneath it like the sparkling of light reflected from a pool of water that isn't there. The roots stretch out and sprawl across the forest floor like monstrous tentacles reaching for new earth to delve. Its branches above hold the rest of the forest canopy at bay as though they dare not steal its sunlight. It towers, regal, and thick as ten regular trees. Any who behold the King Tree can do little but stand and stare for a time. ## Longwood Rd. The narrow and winding way is carved hastily into the forest. It travels poorly with many roots hacked away from its edge, but the forest is constantly trying to reclaim its territory. Like a crack in the earth you travel while its light and dare not be caught on the road or in the forest after dark. It links the towns of [[Keirhall]] with [[Waekefield]]. ## Mage Tower The multi-tiered octagonal structure stands in the center of a clearing in the midst of the ancient forest. It dwarfs the trees and casts a long shadow like a broken sun dial across the canopy. The black stone walls sheer and cleanly made stand well against the time and no door is visible at its base. Some say that it is not set in a specific location within the forest, but others claim that it is located solely in the southern portion of the forest. ## North Wood The [[Weirwood]] is a particularly dense forest. In some areas the beds of needles carpet the earthen floor and gnarled roots so thickly you forget you're outside. The dense canopy can entirely blot out the sunlight for acre stretches leaving you wandering from light source to light source in an effort to avoid the dark swatches of forest. ![[Weirwood.jpg|488]]
