The Barrier Mountains divided the Fourfield Valley From the Northlands with harsh weather, difficult terrain, and treacherous bands of undead and monsters. It is home to some orc bands that tend to be reclusive and hoard their expansive underground mines. It was the home to Destrethor, the Oinoloth, who tested many magical plagues in the region. Some of which managed to spread into the Northlands. A small village that served as Destrethor's testing grounds has regrown due to the efforts of a cleric who came to heal its people. The resulting town of Springshire stands with resolve in a caldera at the Barrier Mountains highest point. ![[Barrier Mountains.jpg|413]]
