#### The Jewel of the Desert
Thalios is the crown jewel of the [[Farthian Desert]] and the largest non moving settlement in the region. What began as a tent city turned into a robust series of pale masonry buildings surrounding a seemingly eternal oasis that allows the hardy folks here to exist without being nomads.
Thalios is a sprawling desert town that appears flexibly across the expanses of the Farthian Desert. At its core there is a shining temple, long and wide, glinting in the summer sun and fiercely glowing in the moon’s light. Spreading out from around it like ephemeral flames are the red brick, stout structures of the Farthian people. Nestled between the Scythian and Hyperian Mountains

## Temple of Sun and Moon
This long and rectangular sandstone building is the very heart of Thalios. The edifice itself personifies the struggle every Thaliite feels as their very surroundings battle them. The long grey stone stairs lead up to the monstrous slab that mammoth columns punctuate and encircle.
## Kahn’s Pavilion
This remote station is home to the Khan of Thalios for half the year. It is maintained diligently in his absence and is treated as hallowed ground in any season.
## Thistle Drop Concoctions
This sandstone domed building nearly always has a stream of smoke coming out of the smokestack in the central port of its spherical roof. Quaint round windows with soot stained glass look outward like little glasses on the face of the building. Twin cacti guard the portal entrance at its front.
## Brickmaker’s Guild
This block belongs to the brickmaker’s guild. Squat buildings with orange cream swirls awash along their brick walls and shining roofs run the length of the dusty streets here. The smells of kiln fire and sweat fill the air.
## Teamsters & Shepherds Guild
An expansive series of wooden stables stand on the southern lip of Thalios looking outward toward expansive sands and emptiness. A large wooden tower filled with water marks the Vario brand with red painted letters and staff runs about with ledes and leather goods and sacks of feed. The smell of dung and animal hang heavy in the dusty winds here.
## Tannery Place
The streets outside this stretch of tannery buildings hang heavy with a constant smell of crushed leaves and the peculiar pungent creosote. The small front office building is a plain brick building no greater than 15 feet square. A quaint sign states: Tannery Place.
## Enchanters & Decanters
A peculiar structure houses the resident enchanter of Thalios. A building shaped like a miniature pyramid with smooth, spiraling lines twisting upward toward the apex where the building is capped with a golden paint.
## Prickle Pot Inn and Distillery
One of the largest buildings in the city is the Prickle Pot Inn. A multitude of flavorous smells waft from the block wide building. The building is also peculiarly reminiscent of wooden construction known elsewhere in the realm of Galantor. The standard square building sporting wooden timbers and frame with gabled roof and shingles looks wildly out of place, yet somehow homely.
## Garret’s Gathering
A series of unassuming brick warehouses line the block facing inward away from the dusty street. Random patrols of men and tabaxi give the quiet block a strangely cautious vibe. The streets are swept clean and wagons rumble through here frequently, laden with gear, men and goods.
## Prophetic Profiteroles
On the outskirts of town there are a series of drab tents in small rings. Camels graze at posts nearby looking at any who approach with demure gazes. Fitful spires of grey blue smoke rise from the tents at all hours. Herbs being dried on racks litter the winding ways between the canvas caravan.
## Palace
The only truly grand structure in all of Thalios is the palace. Sandstone and brick walls run the length of the outer boundary of the grounds and reveal the majesty within. Beyond the courtyard, which contains a surprising amount of greenery is the circular palace itself. From each cardinal direction an acropolis style structure stands, rectangular and defiant. Columns of ivory and granite stand stark against the greenery and blue sky.
## Curia Filorum: Council of Threads
Their work on the surface is documenting regional varieties of spell casting and finding commonalities and differences, identifying especially gifted folks and keeping correspondence and records across Galantor.
